Testimonial Letter "The Apostles' Doctrine" by Robert Pate did for my wife and me what every good book, especially one about our faith, should do. It got us thinking. It made us check the scriptures to validate and/or challenge the writer's position. And with every serious investigation, it paid dividends even beyond our initial purpose! Mr. Pate reminds us that Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith. The Alpha and the Omega. There is nothing else we are going to add to it. Church attendance, activities, Bible studies, good works or whatever can't influence God in regard to our salvation. True, they can help us or others, but it is only Jesus Christ that God sees when he sees us. What liberty! What freedom! Pate's book, by looking at the apostles' lives, thier deaths, and thier words will put you out of working for salvation and limit the hold some churches have over believers by suggesting salvation can be lost and/or it's an on again off again proposition. "The Apostles' Doctrine" not only reminded us of our freedom, in Christ, but the power and confidence we should have in Jesus. The apostles, save all but one, died martyrs deaths. Would they have been willing to die such horrific deaths, had they not believed who Jesus was and not had the assurity that heaven and eternal life awaited them? I won't reveal all that we learned from reading Robert Pate's book, nor
will I impose on the reader the couple of points on which our positions diverged. I'll let you enjoy the
discovery of this thought provoking composition. Pro or con. Read it! Click Here to Return to
